Sterilux is a patented, light-activated surface treatment that uses quantum resonance photocatalysis to continuously destroy pathogens in the air and on surfaces.

We license this technology to manufacturers who build it into their products — and we stand behind it with our Sterilux Care service that monitors the sterilization performance over time.

Continuous Surface and Air Protection

Lighting Application Technologies

Harness the power of light to neutralize airborne and surface-level pathogens—safely, continuously, and effectively.

Safe For Continuous Use

LED Lighting
That Sanitizes

Sterilux delivers continuous surface and air protection using a light-activated process that breaks down contaminants with no chemicals, no heat, and no residue. It’s designed to operate safely in everyday spaces—around food, people, and equipment—without disruption.

Lab testing shows strong microbial reduction, including against SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), using only light and air. The byproducts degrade naturally, offering a clean, quiet, and non-toxic solution for modern environments.

A New Layer of Hygiene

Microbial Load Reduction

Sterilux is a patented, light-activated technology that uses photocatalysis to continuously reduce airborne and surface contaminants—safe even while spaces are occupied.

The diagram shows results from one of many hospital sites where Sterilux is being tested under real-world conditions. These data points demonstrate measurable reductions in microbial load—both bacterial and fungal—before and after the application of lighting with Sterilux integrated.

Ready to see Sterilux in action? Order a sample and choose the testing method that works best for you—whether you’re a lab professional, a facility manager, or just curious to test it at home.

How to Test Your Sample:

  1. Send It to a Lab
Partner with an accredited microbiology or materials testing lab to evaluate antimicrobial effectiveness using industry standards like ISO 27447 or ASTM E2180.

  2. Use a Luminometer
Use an ATP meter like the Kikkoman Lumitester to compare biological activity before and after Sterilux exposure. Swab surfaces and get measurable results in minutes.

  3. Try a DIY Test
Perform a simple home test using fruit or raw pork to observe visible and sensory differences over time. While informal, it’s a powerful demonstration of the Sterilux effect.

Note: Results may vary based on environmental factors. For verified data, we recommend third-party lab testing when possible.

The Technology: photocatalysis

We made it go further

Photocatalysis itself was pioneered in 1972 by Japanese scientists Akira Fujishima and Kenichi Honda. Their work demonstrated that TiO₂ could split water into hydrogen and oxygen under UV light—a discovery known as the Honda-Fujishima effect.

While photocatalytic technology itself has been known for decades, its commercial impact has been limited by serious challenges — namely, the short effective range, weak activation under visible light, and degradation over time. Sterilux’s breakthrough lies in solving those bottlenecks.

Our patented multi-material system, powered by our proprietary Quantum Resonance Hybrid Nano Formulation, dramatically increases the active distance, broadens the light responsiveness, and significantly improves material durability and efficacy. In other words: we didn’t invent the idea — we made it finally work. At scale, in real light, with real-world results.

Traditional Sterilization:

Complicated, Expensive and Less Effective

Most sterilization systems aren’t designed for how people actually live, move, and work. They rely on scheduled interventions, ideal airflow models, or strict surface protocols. In reality, environments are dynamic — and cleanliness needs to be continuous, not episodic.

UV-C and peroxide systems are intrusive
They require safety measures, room evacuations, or high energy inputs — and can’t run while people are present.

Manual disinfection is inconsistent
It depends on humans, routines, and time — and is often skipped or rushed.

Clean doesn’t mean constantly clean
Even with protocols in place, contamination builds between cleaning cycles.

Airborne pathogens move faster than air systems
Ventilation must first travel between people before the pathogen-filled air reaches a filter or duct for sterilization.

Surface hygiene is invisible
Most people assume it’s clean — but few systems can verify or maintain that across the day. The fact is, you can’t be sure if it’s clean, unless it’s constantly being cleaned.

Sterilux +Care

We Maintain The Efficacy

Every registered Sterilux-equipped site is eligible for annual in-person inspections through our Sterilux +Care program. Our team tests light performance and verifies microbial efficacy — so partners and customers can trust that their lights are effectively protecting what’s important.
