Sterilux is a patented, light-activated surface treatment that uses quantum resonance photocatalysis to continuously destroy pathogens in the air and on surfaces.

We license this technology to manufacturers who build it into their products — and we stand behind it with our Sterilux Care service that monitors the sterilization performance over time.

1. Why a Second Trial?

Sterilux has already demonstrated encouraging results in poultry barns:

  • Improved feed intake
  • Higher weight gain (3–7%)
  • Calmer bird behavior
  • Reduced odor and ammonia levels

However, feed types, barn temperatures, and lighting conditions vary across operations. We’re seeking partners to help solidify and standardize these results through carefully controlled field trials.

2. The Sterilux Opportunity

Sterilux is a patented, visible-light photocatalytic sterilization technology that continuously purifies air by breaking down ammonia, bacteria, and VOCs. It operates safely in the 450–700 nm light spectrum using TiO2 and copper catalysts.

The goal of this new trial is to confirm performance metrics across varying poultry production systems — feed programs, climate zones, and barn styles.

3. Why It Matters

Air quality directly impacts broiler health, feed conversion, and mortality. Variables like:

  • Barn humidity and ventilation
  • Ammonia accumulation
  • Lighting schedule and spectrum

…can drastically affect flock performance. Sterilux works 24/7 to neutralize airborne threats, but quantifying the effect across different conditions is critical for scaling.

4. Why Sterilux Works

  • Reduces Ammonia — Lower respiratory stress improves intake and FCR (Miles et al., 2004; Guffey & Lien, 2005).
  • Kills Airborne Bacteria — Fewer cross-infections, cleaner barn climate.
  • Improves Circadian Rhythm — Non-disruptive visible light supports stable feeding behavior (Riber, 2015).
  • Continuous Operation — Passive protection, unlike chemical or UV systems.
