Sterilux is a patented, light-activated surface treatment that uses quantum resonance photocatalysis to continuously destroy pathogens in the air and on surfaces.

We license this technology to manufacturers who build it into their products — and we stand behind it with our Sterilux Care service that monitors the sterilization performance over time.

No Chemicals. Just light.

Continuous Sanitization.

Sterilux is the first patented technology to combine multiple visible light frequenciesfor safe, effective sanitization—delivering continuous protection through everyday lighting.

Microbial Action Explained

How It Works

Sterilux uses a breakthrough method called photocatalytic sterilization to clean air and surfaces—safely, continuously, and without harmful chemicals.

At its core, Sterilux combines visible light (the same kind of light you find in bright rooms or sunlight) with a special surface coating made of nano titanium dioxide (TiO₂), copper ions, and silicon dioxide. When this light shines on the surface, it triggers a chemical reaction that produces reactive oxygen species (ROS)—highly energetic molecules that break down bacteria, viruses, mold, and other harmful microbes at the molecular level.

Here’s how it works in simple steps:

  1. Light activation: Sterilux lights emit visible light (between 450–700 nanometers—like the range of natural daylight).

  2. Catalyst reaction: When the light hits the coated surface, the nano-materials activate and produce reactive oxygen species.

  3. Sterilization: These ROS attack and destroy the outer walls of microbes, neutralizing them without using UV rays, ozone, or chemicals.

  4. Safe for people: Unlike traditional sterilization methods, Sterilux works safely in occupied rooms. It continues disinfecting the air and surfaces all day.

How Is Sterilux Different

Sterilux uses a photocatalytic process that’s grounded in decades of scientific research and widely adopted in fields like environmental purification, healthcare coatings, and air sanitation. We’ve adapted this chemistry for continuous operation — designed specifically for occupied spaces and real-world variability.

Safe for People and Continuous Use

Sterilux produces short-lived reactive oxygen species (ROS) — powerful enough to neutralize pathogens, yet safe for people, animals, and daily exposure. There’s no UV-C radiation, no ozone, and no chemical fogging involved.

No Byproducts, No Cleanup

The reaction returns to oxygen and water vapor, leaving behind no residue, no irritants, and no waste — even in enclosed or poorly ventilated rooms.

Trusted Technology, Refined for Modern Spaces

Photocatalytic systems have been used safely in medical air filtration, consumer hygiene products, and self-cleaning materials. Sterilux builds on this foundation with a formulation that works on surfaces, in air, and under ambient light — without compromising material or human safety.

Electronics & Sensitive Equipment Friendly

Because it requires no moisture, no corrosive agents, and no elevated heat, our system is ideal for environments with electronics, optics, PPE, and delicate tools.
